I advise domestic and international clients on all aspects of Canadian competition and foreign investment review law, including mergers, criminal and civil investigations, misleading advertising and other pricing, distribution and general compliance matters.
I have experience with contested proceedings before the Competition Tribunal, Ontario Superior Court, and Federal Court of Appeal as well as negotiated resolutions, and where available, immunity or leniency agreements. I have been involved in the leading contested abuse of dominance (Canada Pipe) and misleading advertising decisions (Chatr) in Canada.
I currently hold leadership positions within both the American Bar Association and Canadian Bar Association. I am currently a Co-Chair of the Compliance and Ethics Committee of the Antitrust Section of Law of the ABA and was recently appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of the Competition Law Section of the CBA. At the invitation of the Canadian Competition Bureau, I have acted as a non-governmental adviser to the Unilateral Conduct Working Group of the International Competition Network.
