Douglas S. Oles is a former national chair of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, where he also chaired Division 8 (International Contracting). He is a recent president of the American College of Construction Lawyers and an Honourary Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. He has presented construction-related papers at multiple conferences in Europe, Asia and South America. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the JAMS Global Engineering & Construction Panel. He is a Fellow in the International Academy of Construction Lawyers. He is a Board member of The Beavers, a charitable organization that provides scholarships to university students in the construction industry. Mr. Oles graduated with university and history department honors from Stanford University, where he was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He previously served as national editor of The Construction Lawyer and the Journal of the American College of Construction Lawyers.
