Albert Liou is a partner in the Houston office of Jones Day, focusing his practice on intellectual property litigation and transactions. Over the past decade, he has navigated clients through high-stakes patent and trade secret litigation matters and drafted and negotiated numerous complex intellectual property licenses and agreements. He frequently advises clients on open source licensing risks in connection with their acquisitions and investments. Albert has spoken and written on numerous intellectual property topics, and is a frequent contributor to Jones Day’s PTAB Litigation Blog. He has been recognized as a Rising Star in the field of intellectual property law by Texas Super Lawyers for the past six years. He has served four years on the board of directors of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association and is a past-president of the Asian American Bar Association of Houston.
