Bio

James E. Byrne graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Stetson University College of Law and has an L.L.M. from the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Byrne teaches at George Mason University School of Law and is a member of the International Academy of Consumer and Commercial Law. Director of the Institute of International Banking Law & Practice, Inc. and of the International Center for Letter of Credit Arbitration, Inc., he served as editor of Letter of Credit Update for 12 years and continues to survey and publish new developments in the letter of credit field as editor of Documentary Credit World. He has advised government agencies, banks, law firms, and businesses and has testified as an expert on international banking operations.
