Lydia Stefanowicz is a partner with Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP in New Jersey. She concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate finance and commercial leasing. She is a member of her firm’s Opinion Committee and is Chair of the Attorneys’ Opinions Committee of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (“ACREL”). In addition, she serves as the representative of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (“ACMA”) to, and is a member of the Board of Directors of, the Working Group on Legal Opinions Foundation (“WGLO”), an organization that brings together representatives of law firms, bar associations and other legal groups as well as representatives of opinion recipients to discuss current issues in opinion practice. Ms. Stefanowicz is the immediate past Co-chair and current member of the Opinions Committee of ACMA. She served on the joint drafting committees (formed by the respective opinion committees of ABA/RPTE, ACREL and ACMA) responsible for preparing the “Real Estate Finance Opinion Report of 2012,” the 2016 report on “Local Counsel Opinion Letters in Real Estate Finance Transactions: A Supplement to the Real Estate Finance Opinion Report of 2012”, and the 2018 report on “Uniform Commercial Code Opinions in Real Estate Finance Transactions”. Ms. Stefanowicz is a frequent speaker and writer on opinion practice topics. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from New York University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
