Bio

Christopher Jennison serves as an Attorney-Advisor within the Office of Chief Counsel, Employment & Labor Law Division.  This office represents the Administration in employment and labor law matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and other administrative fora. They are responsible for developing case strategy; engage in an active motions practice, take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for hearing. Attorneys serve as second chair in conjunction with the Department of Justice and US Attorney’s Offices, for cases filed in federal courts.

The Employment Law Division attorneys provide legal advice and counsel to FAA Management in employment and labor law matters and general law (Torts, Ethics, FOIA, 49 C.F.R. § 9 (Part 9), Privacy Act, and FACA). Attorneys provide legal advice to FAA management including high-level agency officials, regarding any and all matters within their area(s) of expertise. Attorneys also provide review and analysis of complex and significant issues within their practice areas to ensure compliance with existing laws, statutes, regulations and agency policies.

 

Professional Knowledge & Experience

 

Mr. Jennison was previously an Honors Attorney at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he most recently served in the Office of Aviation Enforcement and Proceedings of the Department's Office of General Counsel. In that role, Mr. Jennison worked on matters spanning aviation consumer protection, charter licensing, disability rights, and aerospace safety. He previously served details with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 's Enforcement Division and with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

While at Syracuse Law, Chris worked for Judge Mary Ellen Coster Williams of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and with then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, as well as for the Inspector General’s Office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He is admitted to the bar of the state of Maryland.

Chris is an active member of the Maryland State, Federal, and American Bar Associations. In the MSBA, he is a member of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar's Council, and also serves as the MSBA Young Lawyer representative in the ABA's House of Delegates. Within the ABA, he is the youngest appointed member of the Standing Committee on Paralegals, the accrediting body of paralegal education programs, and he is a 2017-18 ABA Young Lawyers Division Scholar and also a 2017-19 Fellow of the ABA's Section on Labor and Employment Law. He served as the Law Student At-Large on the ABA’s Board of Governors from 2015-16.

Mr. Jennison is an appointed member of the Montgomery County Commission on Juvenile Justice, and an elected director of the Strathmore-Bel Pre Recreation Association. He serves on the board of the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Washington D.C., and volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad.

 

Education, Certifications and Awards

 

Mr. Jennison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University, with joint majors in Policy Studies and Public Relations, a Master's in Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and Juris Doctor from Syacuse University's College of Law.
