Bio

JEFFREY B. LITWAK is Counsel to the Columbia River Gorge Commission, the interstate compact agency for the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. His practice includes interstate compacts, administrative law, land use, state and local government law, and civil appeals. He is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, and the U.S. District Court for Oregon, Ninth Circuit, and U.S. Supreme Court. Jeff is an adjunct professor of law at Lewis and Clark College, where he teaches seminars on interstate compact law and land use law, and has taught administrative law. He also serves as a municipal land use hearings officer. Jeff has been a member of the American Bar Association Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Section Council, and is an advisory board member for the Council of State Governments' National Center for Interstate Compacts, and a member of the executive committees for the Oregon State Bar Real Estate and Land Use Section and Administrative Law Section, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Washington State Bar Association Administrative Law Section. Jeff also speaks at CLE programs and contributes to bar section newsletters on interstate compact law, land use law, and administrative law each year. He has authored the Intergovernmental Relations chapter in the ABA Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Section's annual Developments book since 2008, and Interstate Compacts: Case and Materials, (Semaphore Press, 2011), the only casebook on interstate compact law. He was the editor for A Guide to Federal Agency Adjudication (ABA Publ'g 2012). May 2012
