Peggy Ward practices exclusively in the antitrust area of law, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, counseling, compliance programs, and nonmerger government investigations. She has represented clients in a variety of industries, including health care, PC hardware, software, life sciences, energy, telecommunications, and broadcasting. Representative clients include: Aetna, Brocade, Chevron, City of Hope, Clear Channel, Electrolux, Federated Department Stores, Intuit, SAP, Sprint Nextel, Sutter Health, and Synopsys. From 2001 through 2003, Peggy worked on antitrust matters at the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. While serving as senior counsel to Assistant Attorneys General Charles A. James and R. Hewitt Pate, she worked on a number of merger and nonmerger antitrust investigations and advised the AAGs on policy initiatives, appellate and international matters, and competition advocacy efforts. Peggy serves as a Non-governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network. She also is a Vice-Chair of the Programs and Teleseminars Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law. She previously served in several other leadership positions within the ABA, including most recently Co-Chair of the 2011 Antitrust and Energy Conference and Vice Chair of the Section's Mergers and Acquisitions Committee. As a Vice Chair of the M&A Committee, she was responsible for coordinating the drafting and submission of any merger law-related comments to be submitted on behalf of the Section to the U.S. and foreign governments.
