Some strategies reduce income tax on the exit from a business, maximize tax basis increases when an owner dies, avoid income tax traps regarding deferredcompensation and life insurance, secure life insurance proceeds for buy-sellagreements, or protect an election to be taxed as an S corporation.
He has written articles on estate planning for business owners or on retirement planning for the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Journal, Probate & Property, Trusts & Estates, and the Journal of the Missouri Bar, and has prepared comments to the IRS and Congress on estate planning for business owners.
