Pervin Taleyarkhan is a Legal Counsel at Whirlpool Corporation. At Whirlpool Corporation, Pervin is responsible for ensuring proper legal mechanisms are in place to drive value for Whirlpool innovations and educating Whirlpool colleagues on IP to help optimize Whirlpool’s IP protection strategies. Before joining Whirlpool, Pervin was an IP attorney at the Purdue Research Foundation’s Office of Technology Commercialization, where she provided strategies for Purdue IP portfolios, evaluated technology-based innovations for IP protection, drafted and prosecuted patent and trademark applications, and educated Purdue staff, faculty, and on the importance of IP in entrepreneurship and innovation, in addition to other duties. Pervin is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Indiana, and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Pervin is actively involved as Vice Chair of the ABA IP Law Section's Business & Trade Division, Vice Chair of the ABA IP Law Section’s In-house/Corporate IP Attorney Committee. She is also the past Editor-in-Chief of The Young Lawyer, the flagship publication of the ABA Young Lawyers Division, and is currently on the Editorial Board for the ABA IP Law Section’s publication, Landslide. As of 2018, Pervin is serving on the Editorial Board for the ABA Journal. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
