Mike Widener has practiced law in Arizona for 35 years, where he primarily counsels clients in real property, land use, contracts drafting and negotiation, and in business formation, maintenance, and decoupling matters. He has represented landlords owning industrial, commerce park, hospitality and shopping center properties, together with a variety of tenants including a major supermarket chain and nursing care facility chains. Among his other clients are Arizona municipalities, special assessment districts and mortgage lenders. Author of about 30 articles in academic and professional journals on property and land use legal topics, Mike teaches at continuing legal education seminars, including on the property law aspects of controlled substances commerce. Mike is certified as a Specialist in Real Estate Law (Board of Legal Specialization, State Bar of Arizona). Mike was appointed to the Arizona State Liquor Board in 2017; and since 2010, Mike has served as a Zoning Adjustment Hearing Officer for the City of Phoenix.
