Professor Kass is a visiting scholar and frequent visiting professor at Seattle University School of Law and professor emeritus at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She teaches courses on environmental law and policy, wildlife and marine life law, natural resources law, and comparative US/EU environmental and natural resources law. She just recently completed a Fulbright at the College of Europe in Belgium researching US/EU comparative environmental law.
She also serves on the editorial board of the ABA publication National Resources & Environment, and as a chair of the ABA SEER International Environmental and Resources Law committee, a vice-chair of the ABA SEER Endangered Species committee, and a board and legal committee member of the Puget Soundkeepers Alliance.
Prior to entering academia, Professor Kass practiced law for close to a decade in the Seattle offices of Preston Gates & Ellis (now K&L Gates) and Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe. Her practice focused primarily in the areas of land use and environmental compliance and litigation.
