John has substantial agency and private practice experience and represents clients in all aspects of government and private antitrust litigation. He has handled high-profile trials and litigation in both private practice and during his tenure with the FTC.
John's practice also includes defending clients in non-public investigations involving antitrust, consumer protection and privacy matters. He has successfully advocated before the FTC and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in matters involving consummated mergers, alleged price signaling, false advertising and discriminatory lending. John also regularly represents companies in global merger transactions. He coordinates global merger strategies for clients, including representing clients before the U.S. competition agencies.
Chambers 2013 recognized John as an “up and comer” “who has ‘really impressed’ peers and clients alike.” John was named a 2014 “Client Service All-Star” by BTI Consulting Group based on direct interviews with 300 with general counsels of Fortune 1000 companies. Legal 500 2012 recommends John “for ‘top-notch client service and true bang-for-your-buck value.’" John was also recognized by Legal 500 2013 and SuperLawyers DC 2013 for Antitrust Litigation and Mergers & Acquisitions.
John is a leader in the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association, where he is the co-chair of the Committee Operations Committee.
