Inayat is an LL.M. candidate specializing in law and technology at UC Berkeley’s School of Law and a legal intern at Kitty Hawk Corporation in Mountain View, CA. Before this, she was a legal intern at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) where she worked on intellectual property law and Internet of Things and privacy law issues. Before EFF, Inayat worked as a legal fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation where she also focused on privacy and intellectual property law issues. 

She received her B.A. from Claremont McKenna College in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) where she was an Edward J. Sexton PPE Fellow and a John R. Dunbar Fellow. Her love for technology, intellectual property, and privacy began in college where she worked with the Student Technology Assistant Team as the Lead Resident Technology Assistant and as a Laboratory Technology Assistant. She received her J.D. in two and a half years from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of law, where she co-founded the first interdisciplinary law journal in the state – the Arizona Law Journal of Emerging Technologies.

She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), the International Association of Privacy Professionals' (IAPP) Young Privacy Professional Leader (YPPL) for the San Francisco Bay Area for 2018, and a fellow at the Internet Law & Policy Foundry.
