Bio

Oscar Rey Rodriguez is a partner at Carter Arnett PLLC, a Dallas, Texas, trial and appellate boutique. Mr. Rodriguez’s practice focuses on state and federal appellate and trial litigation in both tort and commercial areas. Previously, he practiced with Vincent S. Walkowiak, co-editor with Mr. Rodriguez of the ABA  book, The Attorney-Client Privilege in Civil Litigation, Seventh Edition, as a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. and Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law, is a past Chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Appellate Law Section, and has served on the Advisory Council for the State Bar of Texas Appellate Law Section. He is past Chair of the Dallas Bar Foundation and is a Life Fellow of the Dallas and Texas Bar Foundations. He is a coauthor with W. Wendell Hall, Rosemarie Kanusky, and Mark Emery of Hall’s Standards of Review in Texas, 42 ST. MARY'S L.J. 3 (2010). Mr. Rodriguez received his BBA with highest honors from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1989 and was awarded a Harry S. Truman Scholarship. After graduating as the valedictorian of his 1993 law school class from the SMU Dedman School of Law, he clerked for the Supreme Court of Texas. He also earned the highest score on the July 1994 Texas Bar Examination
