Sam Jackson teaches alternative dispute resolution and negotiation courses at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Law in Chapel Hill.  In addition to maintaining an active mediation practice, he has taught at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, at George Mason University, and at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington and in its London Summer Program.   He was chair of the Joint ADR Committee of the Virginia State Bar and Virginia Bar Association from 2010 to 2012 and was president of the Virginia Mediation Network from 2000-2001.  He is currently co-chair of the Committee on Mediator Ethical Guidance for the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association.
